蟠龙古镇 / Panlong Ancient Town

蟠龙古镇，又名盘龙镇，传说明朝开国皇帝朱元璋（1328—1398）因战乱困于此地，持两把战刀冲出去而得天下，故而取名蟠龙。古镇建于清初，至今仍保留着完好的河系以及极具历史感的古朴名宅，被上海市政府划定为历史文化风貌保护区之一，成为青浦文化的缩影。古镇拥有蟠龙庵、香花桥和凤来桥等景点。

蟠龙古镇将打造上海的第二个新天地——蟠龙天地，本着修旧如旧的原则，让沉睡多年的蟠龙古镇涅槃重生。未来的蟠龙天地将成为展现青浦历史文化的新名片、西虹桥商务区的文化生态休闲中心。

Panlong Ancient Town was named after a legend. Zhu Yuanzhang (1328—1398), the f irst emperor of the Ming Dynasty, was trapped in the town during the wartime and broke out of the siege with a pair of sabres. The town was built in the early Qing Dynasty. Till now the river systems and ancient houses are well-preserved. Hence, Panlong Ancient Town is planned as Shanghai’s historical and cultural preservation area and becomes an epitome of Qingpu District. The scenic spots are Panlong Nunnery, Xianghua Bridge, Fenglai Bridge and so on.

Panlong Ancient Town is intended to build Shanghai’s second Xintiandi — Panlong Tiandi, a rebirth of the sleeping Panlong Ancient Town, following the principle of preserving the ancient architecture as original as possible. In the near future, Panlong Tiandi is supposed to be a cultural and ecological leisure center in Western Hongqiao CBD, a window to showcase Qingpu’s history and culture.
